The People page centralizes all employee data in your compliance program. It serves as your employee directory and tracks policy acceptances, training completion, and onboarding/offboarding status — all in one place.

What People is for

Compliance frameworks require you to maintain an accurate record of who works at your company, prove they have accepted security policies, and verify they have completed required training. The People module handles all of this, either through connected identity providers or manual management.

How employee data is collected

Employee data flows into DSALTA from two sources:
  • Integration-sourced — Connect Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID or Nebius and every directory account becomes an employee record here, carrying the person’s name, email address and Current or Terminated status. Google Workspace and Entra ID also mirror their directory groups, and the members in them, into the Groups tab. Accounts from Okta, JumpCloud, OneLogin and your other connected systems arrive on Access & Reviews, where you review them against this directory.
  • Manual — Add employees directly if you do not use a supported identity provider, or for contractors and part-time staff not in your IdP.

Viewing your employees

Each employee record shows: Click any employee to open their profile, which has Tasks, Offboarding, and Devices tabs.

Groups

Groups let you organize employees and assign work in bulk. When you create a group (e.g., “Engineering”, “All Employees”, “Contractors”), you attach policies, security trainings, and onboarding and offboarding tasks to the group, and every member picks them up. When a new employee is added to a group, they automatically receive all assignments associated with that group. This means onboarding is handled without manual effort — add the employee to their relevant groups and everything else follows. To create a group:
  1. Navigate to Data Library → People and click the Groups tab.
  2. Click Add Group.
  3. Name the group and add members.
  4. Open the group and use the + button on its Training, Policies, Onboarding and Offboarding cards to attach what members should complete.

Onboarding and offboarding

When an employee’s status changes, DSALTA tracks the transition: Onboarding — When a new employee is added (manually or synced from your IdP), they receive all policy and training assignments based on their group memberships. Their onboarding progress is tracked on their profile page. Offboarding — When an employee leaves, offboard them so their status becomes Terminated. Any active access they still have across connected systems shows up in Access & Reviews, so it can be revoked and evidenced.

Employee portal

Adding a person manually emails them a portal invitation right away. For people created by a directory sync, send the invitation with Send Task Reminder, which emails the same portal link to every current, non-offboarded person. The portal shows their outstanding items: Accept security policies, Watch required security trainings, any onboarding tasks from their groups, and the device-monitor install step — with a “n of m tasks completed” progress bar at the top. Employees do not need a DSALTA admin account. From Data Library → People you can open the portal yourself with Visit Employee Portal, and re-send the invitation to everyone with Send Task Reminder.
