The People page centralizes all employee data in your compliance program. It serves as your employee directory and tracks policy acknowledgments, training completion, and onboarding/offboarding status — all in one place.

What People is for

Compliance frameworks require you to maintain an accurate record of who works at your company, prove they have acknowledged security policies, and verify they have completed required training. The People module handles all of this, either through connected identity providers or manual management.

How employee data is collected

Employee data flows into DSALTA from two sources:
  • Integration-sourced — When you connect an identity provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, JumpCloud, OneLogin), DSALTA syncs user accounts, email addresses, roles, and group memberships automatically.
  • Manual — Add employees directly if you do not use a supported identity provider, or for contractors and part-time staff not in your IdP.

Groups

Groups let you organize employees and assign tasks in bulk. When you create a group (e.g., “Engineering”, “All Employees”, “Contractors”), you can assign policies, training modules, and tasks to the entire group at once. When a new employee is added to a group, they automatically receive all assignments associated with that group. This means onboarding is handled without manual effort — add the employee to their relevant groups and everything else follows. To create a group:
  1. Navigate to Data Library → People and click the Groups tab.
  2. Click + New Group.
  3. Name the group and add members.
  4. Assign policies and training modules that all group members should complete.

Onboarding and offboarding

When an employee’s status changes, DSALTA tracks the transition: Onboarding — When a new employee is added (manually or synced from your IdP), they receive all policy and training assignments based on their group memberships. Their onboarding progress is tracked on their profile page. Offboarding — When an employee leaves, change their status to Offboarded. DSALTA flags any active access they still have across connected systems in the Access Reviews module, creating a task to revoke access.

Employee portal

Employees receive email invitations to complete their assigned tasks. The employee portal shows their pending items: policies to review and acknowledge, training modules to complete, and documents to sign. Employees do not need a DSALTA admin account — they access the portal through their invitation link.
