DSALTA connects to Guru using read-only API access to collect compliance evidence automatically. Data feeds into your Data Library modules.DSALTA reads your Guru team members through the Members API — the people who have access to your knowledge base — so it can run access reviews against your People directory.

Read-only access. DSALTA never modifies, creates, or deletes resources in your Guru account.

DSALTA collects this integration’s data when you connect it — you can refresh it at any time with Sync from integrations on the Integrations page. The compliance checks below re-run once a day at 02:00 America/New_York.

What DSALTA reads

DSALTA reads the Guru member roster — names, emails, roles and active status — which appears on your Access page. It reads the first 100 members (maxResults=100), so on a larger team the Access page, and the two access checks that read it, cover that first page.It calls these Guru endpoints:

/api/v1/members

Every request is a read. DSALTA has no code path that creates, modifies, or deletes anything in your Guru environment.

Troubleshooting

Integration shows Disconnected

There is no Reconnect button. Open Integrations → Connected, click Manage on the Guru card, and check the Status tab — it shows either Connected and working properly or Connection issues detected. To restore a broken connection you must Disconnect and connect again, which permanently deletes the data and tests collected from Guru. This can happen if the API token was revoked or regenerated in Guru under Manage → Apps and Integrations → API Access.

Data is not syncing

Confirm your Guru username and API token are current (the token may have been regenerated in Guru), then click Sync from integrations on the Integrations page (Connected tab) — it refreshes every connected integration at once.

Before you begin

A Guru Admin account. Only Admins — or users on a custom role with the Manage Apps & Integrations permission — can generate a user token, and an Admin’s token is also what returns the full member roster.

Start in DSALTA

Open Integrations in the DSALTA sidebar, find Guru, and click Connect to open the connect panel.

Get your Guru API credentials

In Guru: Manage (left sidebar) → Apps and Integrations → the API Access tab. You’ll enter your username and API token in the secure Nango window.

The API Access tab offers two kinds of token. Generate a user token, not a collection token. Collection tokens are read-only, accept GET requests only, and return data from a single collection — they cannot list your team members, so the connection will fail validation.

The username is your Guru login username — the one you sign in to app.getguru.com with. Guru scopes API results to that user’s own permissions, so generate the token while signed in as a Guru admin if you want the full member roster.On the API Access tab, click Generate user token, give it a name, and copy the token that appears.

Guru scopes a user token to the role of the person it was generated for, and Admins can generate a token on behalf of another user. If you generate the token for a non-admin teammate, DSALTA will only see what that teammate can see.

Finish in DSALTA

Return to the connect panel you opened in step 1, enter the credential you just created, and confirm to complete the connection.

Once connected, Guru appears on the Connected tab and the checks below begin reporting after the first sync.

Each check below re-runs once a day, at 02:00 America/New_York, while this integration is connected. Click any check for step-by-step remediation guidance.
