What this check does

DSALTA lists the members of your Checkly account (GET /v1/accounts/me/members), drops Checkly’s support-staff memberships, and reads each remaining member’s MFA flag. Any member whose flag is not set fails the check, and members for whom Checkly reports no value count as not enabled rather than being skipped.

Passes when: Every Checkly account member has MFA (multi-factor authentication) enabled.
This check reads the live member list on every run, not the Access page. If Checkly returns no members at all, the run ends in an error rather than a pass, so a broken key is never mistaken for full MFA coverage. Members who sign in through SSO are evaluated like everyone else — if Checkly reports their MFA flag as off, they are flagged.

Why this matters

Every account on the organization’s monitoring platform must be protected with multi-factor authentication. A Checkly member can read check configurations, which often embed URLs, headers and credentials of the systems being monitored.

How to fix

Enable multi-factor authentication for every Checkly member
  1. Ask each flagged member to sign in to app.checklyhq.com, click their avatar in the upper right, open User settings, and switch on Enable multi-factor authentication.
  2. They then sign out and back in, scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Checkly supports Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Twilio Authy and Auth0 Guardian), enter the one-time password, and store the recovery code somewhere safe.
  3. Checkly documents MFA as a setting each user turns on for themselves, so track completion yourself: re-run this check from Data Library → Tests and read the list of members still without MFA on the Source Data tab.
  4. Remove any member who will not enrol and no longer needs Checkly access, from Account settings → Members.
Once resolved, DSALTA records a 200 (compliant) result on this test’s Source Data tab at the next scheduled run.

Frequently asked questions

Once a day, at 02:00 America/New_York, while the integration is connected. A run is skipped entirely if the integration is not in a connected state, or if the test has been deactivated.To see a fix reflected sooner, open the test from Data Library → Tests and click Run in the Run Test row. Usually not. On an integration-powered check, Failed means DSALTA was blocked and could not evaluate it — result code 403 (a missing permission) or 428 (a setting DSALTA still needs from you). Code 500 means the run failed on DSALTA’s side.A genuine compliance gap does not turn the list red — it runs to completion and shows 207.
